Culture lesson

Soooooo coooool!

Not only do we get to learn the language and learn to teach the gospel, we get to learn about the culture as well!

Apparently Koreans love music and love to sing. One of their favorite traditional songs is "Arirang." It's very beautiful. Here are the words:

아리랑, 아리랑, 아라리요...
아리랑 고개로 넘어간다.
나를 버리고 가시는 님은
십리도 못가서 발병난다.

Don't be impressed. I copied that. Here's the Romanization so you can sing along:

Arirang, Arirang, Arariyo...
Arirang gogaero neomeoganda.
Nareul beorigo gasineun nimeun
Simnido motgaseo balbbyeongnanda.

But what I like the best is the translation:

Arirang, Arirang, Arariyo
Crossing over Arirang Pass.
You who abandoned me
Shall not go even ten miles before getting hurt feet.

I love it!!!!!
