A great miracle happened here

So I guess the kimchi did more than just fill the air with its smell. I guess maybe the power of kimchi got trapped in my hair net and stripped my hair clean of the dye and icky stuff.

I'm back to being me! Yay for kimchi!

Who's the fairest?

Yeah, it's taking some getting used to...

I'm not the only missionary with changes. My cousin who was in Ukraine? She's been transferred to California. That's gotta be almost as weird as waking up to new hair — one day you go to bed in Ukraine, then you're transferred in the middle of the night, then you're transferred to a totally different country! Missions are always an adventure!

Not a hair of the head shall be lost

Good news and bad news. I got to Skype home yesterday and talk with my family. Well, nobody recognized me! They kept asking to talk to Sis. Kerry Jo! Finally I had to have Sis. Han talk to them and tell them about my hair before they'd believe it was me!

It was so sweet to talk to my family — especially my mom. She totally understood about my hair!

She reminded me that it's almost been a year since I went into the MTC. Can you believe it?

I'm still getting used to how I look with my hair! It's really different, but I think it's kind of cool. I feel more, I don't know, Korean... Maybe it's because I don't stand out so much without my blonde hair! Still, it's pretty freaky!

Not exactly my reaction

I'm glad I get to Skype with my mom tomorrow! There are times when a girl needs to talk to her mom, and hair gone bad is one of those times!

When a choice is placed before you

Can you see where this is going? I'll tell you more soon!

Somebody said there was a report a while back that all the men in North Korea had to get their haircut in the same style as the dear leader. Could that be true? It sounds like a hoax... but it is North Korea we're talking about...  There are a lot of things we hear about as missionaries, you know?

There are always options

So, yeah, we went to the mi yong shil* to see what they could do about my hair. The choices weren't pretty. But being a missionary means that you try to make the best out of every situation, right? That's what I keep telling myself...
