A conference perspective
I had an epiphany that totally changed my outlook on General Conference. At first I was kind of bummed that it wouldn't be in the Conference Center and the Tabernacle Choir wouldn't be there. Instead of big crowds in big buildings, though, it's more like the leaders are coming in to my apartment to talk with me, personally. It's like the way Jesus taught; it's like Joseph Smith's experience in the Sacred Grove.
I think it's going to be kind of wow!

General Conference throwback
I was really excited for General Conference because it IS rejuvenating for missionaries! It was also going to be cool because it was Sis. Green's first General Conference as a missionary. But then I remembered that it was also going to be my last one!
Be sure to watch the rest of General Conference this weekend. I just noticed that the Church website has something new: summaries of the conference talks! They've already posted those from the Women's Session!
Conference is going to be so cool — I guess it's not just missionaries that it's good for!

It's General Conference time!
I was lucky enough to go to the Women's Session at the Conference Center! That was So. Cool! I even had a can of soda in my purse so I could play along with Sis. Esplin! I'm really looking forward to the rest of the sessions starting on Saturday. I can't wait to hear them again in English (mostly, anyway) and at a reasonable time of day!
The one thing that makes me a little sad, though, is that I won't be counted as one of the missionaries currently serving. I may not be out there, but I know of ton of 'em!
See you at General Conference!

Gift of tongues
I asked Sis. Green what she thought of General Conference, and she really liked it — what she could understand, that is. I can TOTALLY relate...from my experience just a year ago.
One thing that I thought was really cool was the people who spoke in their native languages (even though what we heard was Korean). But still, the idea that they did that was chemi. It shows we really are a worldwide Church!
My favorite was Pres. Uchtdorf's talk from Priesthood (yes, we got to listen to that session too!). It was really powerful and really made me think. I hope it isn't me!
I can't wait to see the Liahona or the Ensign to read all the talks again.

General Women's Meeting
OK, I have to say I LOVED the General Women's Meeting! From the opening prayer all the way to the last "Amen!" But I have to say that my favorite part was the Korean Primary kids singing! They were so CUTE in their hanboks! And it was amazing to see the Seoul Temple there, too!
"We have been given spiritual light to bless the world around us." That was one of my favorite quotes. "Discipleship does not have to be a bitter experience."

Turning point
First off, let me say that Conference. Was. Amazing! I don't which of the talks I liked best: you can't go wrong with Elder Holland or Pres. Uchtdorf, that's for sure! And Pres. Monson is always so cute with his talks (is it OK to call the Prophet cute?). I really liked the one where he said we need to love one another more and have more charity. There was a lot of talk about love and family!
I think the message that touched me the most was Elder Zwick, with his burning truck. The part where he said we need to listen to each other more and "let no corrupt communication escape our lips" really made me look at myself, especially as I thought about Sis. Han. I think what we need to do to make our companionship work better is to listen to one another and work on that "corrupt communication" thing.
We had a little talk after conference, and we made some strides. You'll see!
What was REALLY awesome was... Sis. Yi (the hanbok lady, remember?) came with her family to General Conference! SO. COOL!
Anyway, I can't wait to read the talks again. I get more out of them each time I read them. The gospel is AWESOME!!!!!

Conference is here!
I am SO excited for General Conference! It's been a rough couple of weeks, and I could use some spiritual uplift! I always love the talks and the music. And maybe this time around I'll be able to understand some of what they're saying in the Korean translation!
When I finally made it into the country six months ago, one of the first things I experienced was October General Conference. It will be so awesome! I can't wait to see it with the members and maybe even some investigators!

What I learned at Conference
I thought General Conference was AMAZING!!! If you missed it, go to the Church website and watch! I'll shake your hand if you do! : )
