And now a few words...

Whew! I got through my homecoming talk! It was a lot easier than I thought it would be, although I there were a couple of times when I struggled to find the English words. But I could really feel the spirit! I hope that everyone else could, too! I never really noticed how natural it's become to bear my testimony in Korean! It was funny because when we sang the closing hymn, I tried to sing it in Korean — until the other speaker (the High Council member) poked me and laughed.

It still feels weird not wearing my badge!

Now that's out of the way...!

I made it through one of the hardest parts of leaving on my mission so far -- The Talk. I think it went OK, although it kind of bothered me that instead of congratulating me on my talk, people asked how soon I would be leaving. Not sure what to think about that?

Now just a few more things: final packing, getting set apart, and (gulp) going in to the MTC. It should be easy going after that!

Is this really au revoir?

Giving talks is the worst, especially when I KNOW I'm going to be all emotional. I should just be able to smile and wave and call it good.

Oh, well. Perilous times, right?

Oh. My. Gosh!

So you know what I TOTALLY forgot about!?

I have to give a TALK before I leave for the MTC! I mean, I knew that, but I don't know that, you know? But I guess the Bishop knew because he reminded me. I'm supposed to talk about getting ready to serve a mission. So now I have to worry about writing a talk AND what to wear when I give it. Plus they need a picture and a scripture for my missionary plaque!

My family will be coming down, and when that happens it will be like the last days! The last days before my mission, anyway...

That kind of makes everything a bit more real. I guess on top of everything else, I need to start worrying about the family coming, too -- especially my siblings!

Well, at least things will get a little easier once I get into the mission field, right?
